Product Family - Pyridine
Due to its unique chemical and biological properties, pyridine is the key raw material in the manufacture of the non-selective bipyridyl herbicides, Paraquat and Diquat used to increase agricultural productivity and reduce soil erosion. In addition, pyridine is the building block for pyrithione biocides and quaternary salts with antimicrobial properties used in personal care, coating and textile applications. The unique properties of pyridine also find use in both catalyst and solvent applications for sparingly soluble and hard to make materials used in pharmaceutical and industrial applications.
