Product Family - VITRIDE® Reducing Agents
 | Vitride® is a reducing agent that is an excellent substitute for lithium aluminum hydride(LAH) and related hydrides. It is chemically equivalent to LAH but does not have the same drawbacks such as pyrophoric nature, a short shelf life, and limited solubility. |
| Vitride® is not pyrophoric at ambient conditions and does not react with oxygen at ambient conditions. It is soluble in a variety of organic solvents including THF, MTBE, and toluene. It has unlimited shelf life under dry conditions.
Vitride® willl reduce many of the same functional groups as LAH. These include aldehydes, ketones, oximes, acetals, ketals, esters, acid chlorides, anhydrides, carboxylic acids, amides, nitriles, etc.
Vitride® is available as a 70% solution in toluene. |
