This position is responsible for general protection of the plant property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. As appropriate, responds to emergency situations by sounding alarms, contacting emergency personnel, and acting in a general emergency response role. Authorizes legal entry of people, property, or vehicles to and from the plant. Also responsible for weighing transport vehicles and keeping accurate records of such, making written reports of non routine incidents, and answering company phones. Must also be able to provide “on-call” coverage for unexpected or unscheduled absences in the security force. Also, will act as a “first point of contact” for most persons visiting the site and, as such, a strong focus on customer service is expected.

Qualified candidates will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have and maintain a valid Indiana Driver’s License. As part of the post offer screening process, candidate must also successfully pass a criminal background investigation. Basic PC skills and the ability to learn position specific applications are a must. Must be able and willing to work indoors and out in all types of weather and, in order to support our 24/7 operation, must be willing to work shifts outside of normal business hours. Applicants must also have the ability to move throughout the site including climbing stairs and ladders and walking the fence line of our 100+ acre facility. Good communication skills, customer service skills, safety awareness, and the ability and willingness to work in a team environment are musts. In addition, must be able to function in a high stress environment when acting in emergency response mode. Previous security experience is preferred but not required.
