Vertellus Specialties Inc., an Indianapolis based producer of a variety of specialty chemicals for nearly every major industry, has an immediate opening for a Reliability Engineer.
The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing technical support and management of various programs related to the maintenance of a 24/7 chemical manufacturing facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. Some primary duties include Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), developing equipment Bill of Materials (BOM’s), and the management of the rotating equipment reliability program with specific focus on centrifugal pumps, vibration analysis, mechanical seals, and lubrication. The incumbent will also provide miscellaneous technical support to the site as needed, including providing team leadership and project management for related installations and modifications to improve the facilities’ infrastructure and equipment reliability and uptime.
The successful candidate will possess a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and have 5 or more years of related technical manufacturing support experience, preferably in the chemical industry. In addition, must have demonstrated the ability to effectively plan and organize work, have good analysis and problem solving skills, effective leadership skills, good communication skills, and have the ability to contribute to the success of the team while working with a minimum of supervision. Experience in SAP PM module strongly preferred.
