Vertellus Specialties Inc, a dynamic international company with more than a century of leadership in the manufacture of health, agricultural, and performance chemicals, is seeking Chemical Operators at our Indianapolis, Indiana facility.
The incumbent in this role will be responsible for all aspects of plant operation. Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:
- Loading and unloading tankers and railcars
- Transferring material within the facility
- Troubleshooting
- Sampling
- Housekeeping
- Packaging
- Forklift driving
- Process monitoring
- Record keeping
- Basic equipment maintenance
Minimum requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Authorized to work in the United States
Ability to:
- Work in extreme temperatures (hot and cold)
- Work indoors and out
- Lift and Carry 50 pounds
- Push and Pull up to 1000 pounds (with lift assist)
- Climb Ladders and Stairs (up to 8 stories)
- Work any shift
- Read and Write English
- Complete fundamental math skills
- Execute both written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work in a team environment
Besides the minimum requirements listed above, preferred candidates will have:
- An Associate’s degree or some college course work (Chemistry or related field strongly preferred)
- 1+ years experience in a chemical or process plant
- Fork truck operation experience
- Computer skills
