POSITION SUMMARY:
There is currently an opening at the Indianapolis Manufacturing site, for a Unit Process Engineer reporting to the Process Team Leader (PTL). The incumbent in this position is responsible for monitoring production data and providing technical support to ensure that the production process is technically capable of achieving established standard rates and yields.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibilities include monitoring process performance and, as appropriate, facilitating a timely resolution of identified problems. The Unit Process Engineer will develop and implement plans to bring production back up to standard, as well as monitor and report on the progress of projects. The Unit Process Engineer will also be responsible for seeking out incremental improvement opportunities and, as appropriate, implementing identified opportunities in the unit. He/she is responsible for maintaining the units Management of Change program by ensuring that the program meets process safety requirements, that procedures have been established, and that procedures have been properly documented and implemented. Also, the Unit Process Engineer acts as a technical expert on unit processes. As such, he/she is called upon to effectively utilize this expertise to provide coaching to Unit Team members and contribute analysis and resolution of operating problems to the unit. The Unit Process Engineer is also responsible for providing PHA support to the unit and providing general back-up support for the Process Team Leader.
The successful candidate will possess a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and have 5 plus years of process/production experience. In addition, the candidate must possess effective communication and team leadership skills, have the ability to plan and organize, have a proven track record of exercising good judgment and problem solving skills, and have a demonstrated ability to analyze, assess, and correct problems.
