Vertellus is a dynamic international company with more than a century of leadership in the manufacture of health, agriculture and performance chemicals. Vertellus is seeking Chemical Operators at our Zeeland, Michigan.
Responsibilities will be to produce a variety of chemicals and chemical intermediates by following standard operating procedures. Operator will carry out various tasks in the preparation, reaction and storage of a variety of products, using reactors, pumps, stills, centrifuges, dryers and other manufacturing equipment.
Batch processing includes charging material, processing batch, monitoring and recording data, loading, unloading and cleaning equipment, packaging product, maintaining a safe and orderly work area, assisting other production areas as needed.
Candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent
The candidate must be able to follow written and verbal instructions, have good basic math skills, be able to work independently, be able to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive physical work such as lifting, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 pounds. Work in extreme temperatures, indoors and out and be able to work any shift.
In addition to the minimum requirements, preferred candidates will possess:
- Associates degree or some college course work (will consider high school diploma or GED)
- A minimum of 1 year experience in a chemical or manufacturing plant
- Basic computer skills
