SAFETY COORDINATOR
Vertellus is seeking a hands-on safety professional capable of promoting and maintaining optimum health and safety conditions at both our Bayonne, NJ and Delaware Water Gap, PA facilities. Based in Bayonne, the successful candidates responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: investigating incidents; providing staff safety training as required; planning/evaluating plant emergency drills; directing behavioral based safe work practices; purchasing/maintaining safety equipment; scheduling/leading PHA’s; ensuring MSDS and PSM manuals are up to date; coordinating physicals for ERT program; coordinating materials and presentations for safety meetings; providing consultation for safety aspects of MI’s and SOP’s; reviewing/approving MOC’s and other related duties.
Prefer Associates degree and training in safety science and at least 5 years safety experience in a manufacturing environment. Some supervisory experience a plus. The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, good communication skills, and credentials required to obtain a TWIC through the Coast Guard are essential.
