Assist senior chemists in product development efforts and technical service activities in a variety of polyurethane coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers (CASE) areas, including solvent-based coatings.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare formulations in laboratory scale and trial (pail) quantity.
• Conduct outlined product syntheses.
• Conduct product characterization testing and property development.
• Prepare test samples including test panel films and coatings.
• Conduct product performance testing.
• Compile, record, organize and analyze experiment data and observations.
• Perform technical tasks under minimal supervision in accordance with industry-defined standard procedures.
• Conduct technical service property testing according to customer requirements.
• Set up and operate standard testing equipment and coating application apparatus.
• Perform and initiate non-routine technical tasks as required per project.
• Conduct all activities in a safe manner using proper PPE and good housekeeping techniques.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate degree with 3+ years experience or BS degree in Chemistry (preferred) or other science disciplines.
• Working knowledge of general chemistry, calculations and laboratory techniques.
• An aptitude in chemistry and laboratory testing procedures is required.
• Requires a great interest in new technologies, a strong desire to learn and a high level of motivation.
• Computer skills: working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
