The incumbent in this position is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operation of a production unit in a way that emphasizes stable operations, safety, environmental performance, is focused on people development, and assures continuous improvement.
Primary responsibilities include providing coaching, development, and supervision for unit employees, assisting in achieving production goals, and acting as liaison with other functions. The position will also be responsible for inventory control, assisting in the maintenance of unit equipment, improving safety and environmental performance, maintaining ISO 9002 compliance, and completing other project work as necessary to support efficient operations.
The successful candidate will possess either; a Bachelors of Science in Engineering; chemical or mechanical preferred, with 3+ years of related manufacturing experience or 5+ years of Vertellus specific operations experience. The candidate must have the willingness and ability to serve in varied capacities as required. Successful candidates will also have a demonstrated record of successful coaching and team building, effective communication, planning, and problem solving as well as a commitment to working safely.
