IT BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST –SAP BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

Using highly developed project management, business analysis, and technical skills, define, design, implement, and support Management Reporting solutions to meet Vertellus’ global business needs using SAP Business Warehouse 7.0 and Business Objects 3.1.

Requirements

Bachelor degree or equivalent experience; 8+ years IT experience with at least 5 years experience with SAP BW; preference given to those with experience in global process manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess superior project management and business analysis skills with technical skills across a variety of SAP tools including ECC 6.0, BW 7.0, and BO 3.1. Extensive experience in design and rapid delivery of BW / BO solutions across a wide range of business modules is required, as is the ability to develop ABAP data extractions. Previous experience supporting BW in an APO environment is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, as is the proven ability to be self-directed, manage multiple priorities, and absorb new technologies rapidly. The position will operate in a Microsoft Windows/SQL environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with Business Users at all locations to define reporting and analytical needs, developing both functional and development specifications and recommending tools as appropriate, placing emphasis on intuitive user interfaces targeted to the user audience with varying needs and levels.
• Based upon functional specifications and user needs, and in accordance with Change Management Procedures, rapidly develop, test, and implement SAP Business Intelligence reporting, analytics, and dashboards (ie. WEBI, Crystal, Xcelcius, Live Office, BEX Analyzer / Designer) with information derived from SAP ECC 6.0, BW 7.0, and APO 7.0 systems as well as from non SAP data sources.
• Design, configure, and implement standard and custom information stores and cubes. Utilize multi-dimension cubes as appropriate. Build and maintain custom hierarchies. Research, propose, and implement expanded functionality such as alerts, drill downs, and broadcasting.
• Provide support and training to business users through functional system expertise and resolution of production problems.
• Manage SAP and IT projects, including identifying and securing appropriate resources, developing the project schedule, coordinating team activities, managing contract resources, and communicating progress.
• Work with BASIS Administrator and DBA to keep SAP BI landscape current through application of Support and Enhancement Packages. Research and apply OSS notes as needed. Create and maintain relevant documentation.
• Perform routine BI maintenance. Monitor and optimize performance of BI and Portal, including process chain loads and cube performance. Provide IT Management with performance reporting, proactively planning and implementing tuning as indicated. Develop technical roadmap addressing hardware sizing, security, performance, backup and recovery, disaster planning, and storage needs. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues serving as incident commander as needed, communicating issues and impact. Perform post-incident reviews, creating and delivering on action plans.
• Under the guidance of Internal Controls, work with the SAP Security Team to design and maintain SAP Security for BI products.
