INDIANAPOLIS, IN – September 1, 2009 -- Vertellus Specialties Inc., a leading specialty chemicals company, today announced that, effective October 1, 2009, it would increase the price of its Vitride® reducing agent by 50 cents per kg for all non-contract customers or as existing contracts permit. The price increase will enable Vertellus to continue to invest in expanding global supply for the high performance, reducing agent. Vertellus is planning a substantial expansion of capacity to help support the use of Vitride®, which is a more selective, safer and easier to handle reducing agent than many of the alternatives. Vitride® has multiple applications in pharmaceutical, flavor and fragrance as well as agrochemical manufacture.
